PTT Gathering at Auntie Serena's House

Mummy brought me to Auntie Serena's house for a playgroup today. We took bus 88 from Hougang Ave 8 all the way to Pasir Ris. During the bus journey, I kept staring at an auntie seating behind me. So when mummy shifted our seat to the back of the bus beside the auntie, she leaned over & asked me why I was starring at her.

Of course, I didn't say anything...just smile blankly back at her. Auntie commented to mummy that I'm very sociable & not afraid of strangers. Unlike her neighbour's boy. Mummy just keep quiet & smile.

Finally, we reached our stop & slowly stroll our way to Auntie Serena's house. Mummy had forgotten which floor the unit is so she called Auntie Serena's HP. However, nobody pick up the call so Mummy tried her luck by going to level 5, 7, 9. End up, it's actually at level 6.

Emerson was not around as he was in childcare today. So I only played with Ian & Garrick. There were alot of toy cars around the house & mummy 'drove' me around in one. Ian saw us & wanted to squeeze into the ride with us. The ride can only be operated by turning the steering wheel left to right & after awhile, mummy is exausted. Ian offered to 'drive' us this time. All of us are so amazed with his arm strength!

Here's a pix of us in the ride.

Singapore Airshow 2008

Today is the 2nd Day of Singapore Airshow 2008. I woke up at 8am and Mummy quickly proceeded to prepare for us to leave the house. However, Daddy was dilly dallying with his laptop, surfing online..so we only managed to leave the house after 930pm. But first, we made a stop at the petrol kiosk & load up on food (chicken pie/donut/sausage pie), mineral water & tibits before heading to Pasir Ris Bus Interchange for the free shuttle bus service to Changi Airshow exhibition site.

We decided to drive to a nearby HDB multi storey carpark to park our car & walk over. However, they were signs on the road indicating that the multi storey carparks near the interchange are all reserved for residents. But heck! It's a Sunday! How would anyone know if the parked cars belong to residents/visitors/airshow visitors?? Stupid right? Anyway, we still went ahead & parked our car in the multi storeay carpark lot.

When we reached Pasir Ris Bus interchange, the queue to the shuttle buses is already formed. It was so long that it snaked around the MRT station twice, then zigzag across the open field next to the MRT station more than 10 times before we can board the bus. The field has a lot of rough patches & stones so daddy & mummy have problems manouving the stroller.

Heck...why can't the organsier lay planks on the ground? Dun think it'll be very expensive to lay planks lor. I can also see the rest of the people with children & prams struggling to push through the rough terrain & withstanding the hot sun. The only consolation is that it's not raining. Haha..shudder to think of queuing under the rain, threading around muddy soil. By the time it's our turn to board the shuttle bus, it's already 11am.

Luckily I didn't fuss at all, not even under the hot sun. I was very cooperative & Mummy kept feeding me snacks/food & drinks to keep me occupied.

The organisers scheduled extra long Trans Island bus to ferry visitors to & fro between Pasir Ris and the Airshow site at 10mins interval. But still, it was very crowded & people had to stand up holding onto railings. Luckily Mummy managed to find a seat with me sitting on her lap.

There was major traffic jam along changi road so it took more than an hour to reach the destination when it normally takes about 15mins to reach. I slowly dozed off in Mummy's lap while listening to people around me chatting away on the bus.

When we were approaching the exhibition site, we encountered another jam on the road due to the towing of Airbus A380. While waiting, we saw lotsa people cycling/walking in from the main road under the scorching hot sun. Really pity them...

We reached the site at 12noon & headed straight for the aerial display area. The aerial display is going to start in 15mins. Everyone started running & dashes past the registration booth. Strangely enough, nobody checked for tickets at the entrance. Mummy was holding onto a piece of folded paper & they just waved us through. Hmm...seems like the organisers were not well prepared for the huge crowd. Everything was so messy.

Luckily we're just in time for the aerial display. SAF Black Knights didn't disappoint us. However it's too loud & I'm frightened by it. But I still wanna see what's going on...so I half screamed, half gawked at the aerial displays. The show also included other planes from SAAF & Airbus A380. The entire aerial display lasted for 1hr+ and by the time we leave the site, we're all sun burnt. Mummy had forgotten to bring umbrella & apply sunblock on me to shield the sun. My knees are all red from the burnt and she felt so guilty.

Next, we proceeded to the indoor exhibition area..but it's more for the trade partners, so we didn't linger around much. We wanted to catch a cab back to Pasir Ris but the queue was so long...so we decided to walk along the road & managed to hail a cab heading towards the exhibition site, by asking the cabby to u-turn back.

While on the way home in Daddy's car, I dozed off until I reached home & continue napping for 2hrs. It's a really tiring but eventful day!

My 1st Experience with Singapore Flyer

Daddy brought us to take a ride at the Singapore Flyer today cos we bought tickets to Singapore Airshow 2008, & had additional 10% off for Singapore Flyer tickets.

Singapore Flyer is not open to public yet but this week, they are open at certain timing for visitors who enjoyed the 10% discount.

Daddy & mummy patiently waited for me to wake up from my afternoon nap & thereafter we proceed straight to Singapore Flyer at Marina. Since we've already been there before, we have no problems finding the place this time.

There were 3 staff attending the ticketing booth & all 3 of them attended to us. Mummy was asking Daddy why do they need so many staff to sit in the ticketing booth when there's not much people. Daddy said maybe because the staff are new & unfamiliar with the procedures, so they need more time to process each tickets.

After buying the tickets, we had to walk into the reception area & get our tickets checked by the ushers. Then our belongings had to be screened by security machines before we can proceed to the 3rd level for boarding.

The staff there were all very nice & polite. Even the security guards wished us a pleasant flight. Since there were no crowd, we managed to have an empty capsule all for ourselves. Kay had such a great time running around the capsule & climbing up & down the benches. The capsules travelled very slowly & we don't feel anything at all. It seems like we're on a tall storey building looking down from above. The entire flight takes about 30mins to end.

1st Day of CNY Visiting

It's the first day of CNY & we started the day early.

I woke up at 830am & Mummy started preparing my stuff for the day. We left the house by 930am & went to Nai Nai's house first. It was all quiet cos everyone just woke up from sleep. We had breakfast & Nai Nai gave me a big ang bao. Even though Nai Nai was busy in the kitchen, I still managed to entertain myself by running around.

Next, we went to Ah Mah's house & the same thing happened! It was quiet cos they just woke up from sleep. I waited for a very long time for my cousins to arrive until I nap. Hmm...mayb we shouldn't start CNY visiting so early next year.

Finally, Da Yi & Da Yi Zhang arrived & we all went to Ah Mah's mother's house together. There were many people & it's really very cramp. Some of us even have to spill into the bedroom to chit chat. We were there for about 1.5hr & left at about 4pm.

It's been a long day & Daddy & Mummy were all tired. However, I'm still energetic & refused to nap at home. So they brought me to Nai Nai's house again for dinner.

Reunion Dinner with the Loh Family

This year, we had reunion dinner at Spring Court Restaurant in Chinatown. There were 11 of us so we got a VIP room complete with karaoke facility.

I was totally engrossed with the TV through-out the dinner cos Xiao Yi kept playing kiddy songs on TV. I kept rocking & shaking to the music while mummy shove food into my mouth. I didn't even realised I've finished almost 1 bowl of rice until the music stopped. Haha.

Food was nice & everyone had a good time eating & singing.
