OFF TO THE ZOO!

Daddy & mummy brought me to the zoo today. They had originally planned to set off early in the morning as it's cooler. Who knows, I slept till 10.30am. Mummy then quickly fed & bathe me, hoping to reach the zoo before 12noon.

While Daddy & mummy prepared to go out, I fell alseep again. Mummy then decided to let me nap first before going out. At the same time, mummy & daddy can have lunch at home first.

I woke up the moment daddy reached home after buying food. Hahaha..daddy was so shocked! He thought he could have a peaceful lunch before I wake up. Gotcha Daddy!

We reached the zoo at 2pm. Just in time for the animals feeding time & Elephant Show. I saw many animals...monkeys, elephants, polar bears, white tigers, hippos, otters etc

It was very hot & I kept pespiring. Luckily Mummy brought along my sun hat & 2 fans! Kiasu mummy!

In the middle of the trip, the started to drizzle. Mummy & daddy quickly pushed me into the aircon-shelter to wait out the rain. Woah! Cool.........

Daddy was very tired after walking for some time & actually dozed off while we were snacking! Mummy said daddy can sleep everywhere...somemore look so ugly like sitting in coffeeshop!

We left the zoo at 4pm and I dozed off immediately when the car moves.

Mummy then suggested going to Auntie Ethel's house to meet up with the PTTs & babies friends. Daddy was worried that I might be too tired, but I think I have 6th sense. I immediately woke up! Hahaha..missed the chance to play with my babies friends? NO WAY!

Upon reaching Auntie Ethel's house, mummy quickly brought me to the swimming pool with fountains.

See me enjoying myself with daddy!!

I feed Mummy

Mummy gave me some teething biscuits & put me in the high chair watching TV. Suddenly, I decided to feed mummy my teething biscuits & stretch out my arm towards her mouth.

Mummy is so surprised & touch! However, she refused to eat the biscuits cos she wants to let me have it ALL!!

I LOVE YOU, Mummy!

PTT Gathering at my house

Today is such an unlucky day.

I've always LOVE rolling around in my crib & finally TODAY, I knocked my eye onto the crib & resulted in a swollen eye wif a scar running down my eye. It was so painful that I cried hysterically & mummy had to use a cold compress to soothe the bump. Mummy then quickly unscrew the part of the crib where I bumped into so that I would not injure myself again.

See my scar running down my left eye...

After that, PTT aunties came to my house for a gathering. Auntie Serena bought hairclips for me & all the other baby gals & mummy quickly pin it up in my hair.

Being curious, I wanted to find out how the hairclip taste like. So I pulled it off my hair & put in inside my mouth. Luckily Auntie Yuen noticed & shouted out to mummy. Mummy had to dig her fingers inside my mouth before she can retrieved it. She beat my little hands cos she was really MAD!!

Then when the PTT aunties left, I crawled under the Mahjong table & hit my head...CRY AGAIN...

Sigh...I'm so glad that the day is finally over....

Mummy & daddy were so surprised that I can climb up the bed!!

Mummy became an 'OUTSIDER'

Hmm...what's the point of having parents if they don't care at all?

I really pity Aisaac & Ashley. They can be easily mistaken as orphans since Ah Mah & Ah Gong takes care of them most of the time.

Mummy is very angry & disappointed at Aunite Yvonne. People say twins share similar interests & characteristics. How wrong is that!! Auntie Yvonne is so irresponsible towards her kids. She had Aisaac because she felt bored with couple life & she had Ashley by accident. Well, I guess she has the benefit of having Ah Mah to help her care for her 2 kids, so having accidents don't really matter.

Who feed Aisaac kor-kor & Ashley mei-mei? Ah Mah. Who shower them? Ah Mah. Who bring them to school & care for them when they're sick? Ah Mah. Where's their parents? Hmm...well, u can find their mum at branded shops, in front of the PC surfing net, playing PC games, taking a 1hr shower, having a leisurely dinner infront of TV, talking on the phone, sneaking off to a holiday without informing them etc. Father? Well, not appropraite for me to comment.

Their mum didn't even give them a single slice of apple to eat simply because she said she do not know how to cut apples without injuring herself! Sigh..excuses..excuses...Practice makes perfect, isn't it? Also, isn't there an apple core remover in the shops?

Discipline? Dun even think about it. Auntie Yvonne even wanted mummy to discipline her 2 kids cos she does not want to bother herself with it. Well, you reap whatever you sow.

Take Aisaac's birthday for example. Auntie Yvonne decided to celebrate at Ah Mah house so as to save costs. But Ah Mah had to SLOUGH in the kitchen cooking for them, while they napped. Even the cleaning up also have to be done by Ah Mah. THAT is in addition to having to shower the 2 kids & making them go to sleep. All this while, their parents are enjoying their mahjong game.

Mummy purposely let Ah Mah bathe me even though Mummy is fully capable of handling me alone. She just wanted to show Auntie Yvonne how irresponsible she is by enjoying herself & letting Ah Mah do all the work. Sigh...mummy, u shouldn't even try teaching a 'PIG' to understand her mistakes! Auntie Yvonne became angry & said Mummy is a busybody. She wanted mummy to mind her own business & not bother about how she 'BULLY' Ah Mah.

Well, since Auntie Yvonne doesn't get the obvious hint & Ah Mah willingly wanted to be bullied, mummy decided to WASH HER HANDS off these issues.

Mummy is also sorely disppointed at Ah Mah for only knowing how to complain but never dare to make a difference. Always hiding behind the back when something happen. SIGH...

Mummy decided NOT to bring me to Ah Mah's house EVER AGAIN, since nobody appreciate her efforts & nobody loves me. Mummy & I are just like rubbish, while Auntie Yvonne & her 2 kids are gems.

Mummy, I do not need anyone else's love since I already have yours & Daddy. And THAT, really is enough.

New Menu - Baked rice

Mummy cook a new dish for me today because my appetite is low for the past 2 weeks & mummy is really worried.
Recipe for baked rice:
- Marinate fish wif saseme oil
- Steam vegetables & fish (add sliced ginger onto fish)
- Cook rice
- Add steamed veg & fish onto rice
- Add morzzerela cheese to top of rice
- Baked for 20mins on 180degrees

Here's how my baked rice looks like...

However, I didn't appreciate mummy's effort at all. I refused to take more after 1 bite. Mummy is so disappointed. Luckily daddy likes it, so mummy's effort is not in vain.

Growing Up Gifted Trial

Mummy brought me to Growing Up Gifted (GUG) trial at United Square today. The trial was supposed to start at 4pm but the other mummies were late, so mummy & Auntie Yuen sit inside the classroom waiting for the other students to arrive. Meanwhile Caitlin & I played with the toys on the playmat.

Mummy & Auntie Yuen noticed that there are paint stains on the play mat & some of them are already frayed at the sides.

Soon after, the trainer came in & she told us the 1st 15mins of the class is for the babies to warm up. So by the time everyone came & the class starts, it's already 4.20pm.

There are songs, dancing, zoophonics & even chinese lesson. I hanged on to every word that the trainer was saying & keep clapping & flapping my hands around.

Unfortunately, mummy was not allowed to take any photos during the class.

There's also an art session too where we dipped our fingers & hands into paper plates filled with paints & create handprints on paper. Mummy didn't let me try cos she forgot to bring extra clothings for me.

Verdict of GUG:
- Very 'classroom' environment with tables & chairs at the back & mat in front facing the whiteboard.
- Facilities seems old & cleanliness not very good. Mummy is not sure if the toys are being sterilised & cleaned after every use.
- Trainers didn't seemed well prepared. Music unable to play & missing teaching materials.
- There was 1 baby gal screaming during the entire class. One of the trainers gave a very disgusted look & keep telling the maid to carry the baby to a corner of the class. In the end, the gal didn't participate in most of the activities & could only look on from afar. Mummy felt that the trainers should be quite immuned to screaming & crying babies by now & the digusted look was really unnecessary.

After the class, mummy brought me to shop around United Square & waited for daddy to join us for dinner.

Here's a pix of all of us in the Baby Changing Room...

Baby Zavier's 1st Birthday Party

Today is Zavier's 1st birthday party & mummy & daddy brought me to the clubhouse at Comcenter to celebrate with him

The place is really spacious & huge! There's a lot of Pooh Bear balloons & even a play area with float filled with balls, rides & children's slides. Auntie Michelle said she rented the toys at $80 for 4hours. Well, it's really reasonable!

Even though I couldn't eat the buffet, I enjoyed myself a lot playing in the play area.

Mummy & daddy loved the Pooh Bear birthday cake & agar agar. Mummy then decided to order the agar agar for my birthday in July.

By the time we left the party, it's already about 8pm. I slept in the car on the way home & didn't wake up till next morning...Haa..haa...
Pix 'stealed' from Venice's blog....cos mummy spoilt the camera's memory card & all pixs are lost!

FAKE MEASLES

I had fake measles (or Roseola as it's medical term) for the 1st time in my life!!

On Saturday, Mummy saw me looking very strange & kept staring into space. Mummy thought it's the cough syrup that she gave me earlier that's making me drowsy..so she quickly put me to sleep. I slept from 1pm till 5pm.

When I woke up, I felt feverish. Mummy took my temperature & it measured 38.5 degree. Mummy then gave me some fever medicine & apply cool pad on my forehead. Although I still felt unwell, I can still play & crawl around.

Then at night, my temperature increased till 39.5 degree. Mummy was very worried & tried to carry me to her bed to sleep so that she can watch over me at night. However, the moment my head touched her bed, I woke up & refused to go back to sleep. I kept wanting to climb up the headboard & touched the patterns on the wall. Mummy tried rocking & carrying me to sleep, but to no avail.

Finally fed-up, mummy put me back to my cot & I immediately fell asleep. Mummy then slept in the nursery room with me for the night.

Sunday morning I woke up with 39 degree & mummy continue to feed me fever medicine. However by 11am, my fever drop & my temperature hover around 37.2 degree. This continued through out the whole day.

Then on Monday, mummy noticed my face breaking out in rashes. It was very fade & not very noticeable. However on Tuesday, the rashes spread to my tummy & back. After taking a warm bath or when I was feeling warm, the rashes will become more prominent.

Rashes on my face...

Mummy's friends told her it false measles & there's basically no medicine to treat it. The rashes will go away on its own, so mummy didn't bring me to see doc. She just applied some calamine lotion on my body.

On Wednesday, the rashes became more serious & spread to the whole body, behind the ears, neck & elbows. However, I still play & crawl as usual. But my milk & food intake has dropped drastically due to my poor appetite. I only drank 3oz of milk per feeding & mummy stopped cooking porridge for me.

But I kept waking up in the middle of the night for milk..Hmm...cos I didn't drank enough during the day.

On Thursday, the rashes suddenly diminished & not very obvious. And on Friday, there's not even a trace of the rashes...no scars..or anything.

Auntie Geri managed to get some information abt false measles on the net. Here's what it says...

What is roseola?Roseola is a sudden, mild viral illness of short duration that affects young children.
Roseola is most common in children 6 to 24 months of age (a half year to 2 years of age). The average age of children with roseola is around 9 months.
Roseola is caused by a virus called human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) and, possibly, human herpesvirus 7 (HHV-7).
Roseola is a sudden, mild viral illness of short duration that affects young children. Roseola is most common in children 6 to 24 months of age (a half year to 2 years of age). The average age of children with roseola is around 9 months.

Roseola is spread from person to person, but it is not known how. Roseola is not very contagious.

Yes. The high fever of roseola may trigger a seizure (a convulsion). Febrile seizures (convulsions due to fever) are common in children between 18 months to 3 years of age. They occur in 5% to 35% of children with roseola.
No. The seizure may look very frightening but it is usually quite harmless (benign). Febrile seizures are not associated with long-term nervous system side effects or brain damage.

Yes, but not in the beginning. When the fever disappears, a rash appears. The rash is mainly located on the neck and body, especially, the abdomen, trunk, and back but it can also be on the arms and legs (extremities). The rash appears as separate little raised dots (papules) or as a flat (macular) rash.
What is most striking is that the child seems so well despite having a high fever.
The fever of roseola lasts 3-5 days followed by a rash lasting about 1-2 days. Roseola usually resolves without any treatment.
Complications are rare with roseola except in children with suppressed immune systems.
